
About Estelle
Estelle Uba is a multimedia journalist, presenter, producer and digital content creator who is passionate about telling stories related to personal identity, community action, human rights and business. She prides herself on adopting an intersectional approach to her work, taking into account how different aspects of people’s identities overlap to shape their worldviews and personal experiences.
Her articles, podcasts and videos can be found in a number of publications, including international press agency AFP, The Guardian, Pioneers Post, Migrant Women Press, The Republic Journal, irokoos, Barriers to Bridges and more.
She has earned recognition and won awards for her journalism and content creation, including being listed as one of MIPAD’s Most Influential People of African Descent in the aged 25 and under cohort and winning Best Self-Published Article in the Writing to End Violence Against Women Awards. She was also a Top 10 Winner in the Frontline National Student Awards, and was Highly Commended for the Young Journalist’s Award 2022.
She holds a Master’s degree in International Journalism from City, University of London and a Bachelor’s degree in English & Sociology (with a Year Abroad in France) from the University of Leeds. As a student, she founded and ran an online magazine called Gen-Z Talks (2021–23), aimed at giving herself and other young Gen-Z writers the platform to discuss socio-political issues and keep other young people informed of current affairs through an intersectional lens.
Estelle is always seeking opportunities to tell new stories through articles, podcasts, documentaries or social videos. She is also available to host events and moderate panel talks.
